Subscription & Billing Terms

Last updated: 23 October 2026

These terms explain how paying for Idiosync works: subscriptions, cancelling, refunds, failed payments, price changes and content packs. They’re part of our Terms of Service. Idiosync is run by Ronnie Lashley, a sole trader trading as Idiosync, 19 Friars Orchard, Fetcham, Surrey, KT22 9RL, United Kingdom, idiosync.help@gmail.com.

1. Plans and prices

  • Spark — free.
  • Lingua — £5.99 a month.
  • Connect — £10.99 a month.

Prices are in pounds sterling and are the total you pay. Idiosync isn’t VAT-registered, so no VAT is added. What each plan includes is shown in the app before you buy (Account Settings › See what each plan includes). We only offer monthly plans at the moment.

2. How payment works

  • Before you pay, the app shows you the plan, the price and how to cancel, and asks you to tick a box to start your plan straight away.
  • You’re charged the monthly price on the day you subscribe, then on the same date each month until you cancel.
  • Payments are taken by our payment provider, Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe, not to us.
  • We email you a confirmation with your plan, price, payment dates and how to cancel. Stripe emails a receipt for each payment.
  • You can only have one subscription at a time. To move between Lingua and Connect, use Account Settings › Manage billing.

3. Your 14-day right to cancel

When you subscribe, you ask us to start your plan straight away by ticking: “Start my plan now. I understand that if I cancel within 14 days, I'll get a refund minus a fair amount for the days I've used.”

  • You can cancel within 14 days of starting a new subscription (your first one, or moving from Spark to a paid plan) and get a refund.
  • The easiest way is the Cancel and refund button in Account Settings, which appears during those 14 days. You can also email idiosync.help@gmail.com saying you want to cancel.
  • Your plan stops straight away and you move to Spark.
  • We refund what you paid, minus a fair amount for the days you used: amount paid × days used ÷ days in that billing month. A day you’ve started counts as a used day. For example, if you pay £5.99 for a 30-day month and cancel on day 4, you get back £5.19.
  • The refund goes back to the card you paid with straight away. Banks usually take 5–10 working days to show it. We email you to confirm the amount.
  • Switching between Lingua and Connect doesn’t start a new 14-day period.

4. Cancelling after the first 14 days

  • Cancel any time in Account Settings › Manage billing.
  • Your plan keeps working until the end of the month you’ve already paid for, and you won’t be charged again. After that you move to Spark.
  • We don’t refund part-months after the first 14 days, unless something has gone wrong on our side (see section 9).

5. Changing plan

You can switch between Lingua and Connect in Account Settings › Manage billing. Before you confirm, Stripe shows you what you’ll pay. When you move up, you’re normally charged the difference for the rest of the current month; when you move down, the difference is normally taken off your next payment. If moving to a smaller plan takes you over its limits, the extra group chats or languages become read-only (nothing is deleted) — see section 5 of the Terms of Service.

6. If a payment fails

  • If a monthly payment doesn’t go through, Stripe emails you and tries again over the following 2 weeks.
  • You keep your paid plan for 14 days after the first failed payment. If it still hasn’t been paid by then, you move to Spark.
  • If all the retries fail, your subscription is cancelled. If a later retry succeeds, your plan comes straight back.
  • You can update your card at any time in Account Settings › Manage billing.

7. Price changes

  • We’ll email you at least 30 days before the price of your plan changes, telling you the new price and the date.
  • The new price applies from your first payment on or after that date.
  • If you don’t want to pay the new price, cancel before then in Account Settings › Manage billing and you won’t be charged it.

8. Content packs

  • Content packs are one-off purchases of extra digital content, at the price shown before you buy. They aren’t a subscription.
  • Before you buy, you’re asked to tick: “I want access to this pack straight away. I understand that once I start using it, I lose my 14-day right to cancel and get a refund.” Your confirmation email repeats this.
  • A pack you’ve bought stays yours if your plan changes. Connect subscribers get packs included while their Connect plan is active.
  • If a pack is faulty or not as described, you still have your legal rights — contact us and we’ll fix it or refund you.

9. The free trial and shared seats

The free trial and a Connect shared seat never cost anything and never turn into a paid plan by themselves. See section 5 of the Terms of Service.

10. Deleting your account with a paid plan

  • Within the first 14 days of a new subscription, deleting your account cancels your plan and refunds you as in section 3.
  • After that, deleting your account ends your plan straight away and you lose the rest of the month you’ve paid for, with no refund. If you’d rather keep your plan until it runs out, cancel it first (Manage billing) and delete your account later.

11. If something goes wrong

If Idiosync isn’t provided with reasonable care and skill, or isn’t as described, you have legal rights, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and nothing in these terms affects them. If we can’t put things right, we’ll refund you fairly. Contact idiosync.help@gmail.com with any billing question or complaint and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.

12. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that affects a paid plan you already have, we’ll email you before the change applies.
